With the arrival of the digital age, the quality of people’s life is improving, the people’s needs for the network gradually moving towards the direction of wireless network, wireless sensor network have been widely used, it is slowly infiltrated into the digital home, such as wireless communication, wireless positioning, wireless networking and mobile connectivity. Which are used in various wireless location places such as shopping malls, underground parking, large libraries and other sites. This paper studies the indoor positioning technology based on ZigBee technology.ZigBee technology is not only a short-range wireless communication’s technology. But it has a low-cost, low-power, low-speed characteristics. ZigBee technology is constantly being applied to the digital home, medical care, environmental monitoring, temperature acquisition, and military applications.This article is designed based on the ZigBee network indoor positioning system, firstly, we explored and discussed some of the existing localization algorithms, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm from a different point of view. Compare each algorithm we find the most reasonable results for localization algorithm is DV-Hop algorithm. This paper focuses on the DV-Hop localization algorithm, and improves this algorithm to improve the positioning precision. Secondly, the system introduction the hardware modules and software modules respectively, the hardware modules introduces the system used by the hardware platform and system of auxiliary modules. Software modules firstly introduce the development environment and debugging tools, such as IAR Embedded Workbench, Z-stack, Z-location, then, introduces every nodes and the functions. Finally, the paper compares the improved DV-Hop algorithm with the original DV-Hop algorithm data, the results show that the improved algorithm is higher positioning accuracy. At the end of the paper, we give the summary of the system, and give the plan of the next step.
