With the development of science and technology,Image processing technology has entered the new stage of development,Image tracker as the product of image processing technology development,it is become increasingly active。the function of image tracker is receiving video information from the image sensor,then locking the target used of automatic or “man-in-loop”,stable tracking,and outputting the required instruction information。It has the high social value and economic value。Image tracking technology is widely used in military and civilian areas。The development of image tracker has experienced several stages,from the beginning of the separation of component and simple tracking algorithm,to later with the large scale integrated circuit and complex multimode tracking algorithm,especially the high speed real-time processing platform based on DSP and FPGA image tracker has the good application effect in several filed.The design and implement of image tracker based on DSP are researched in this paper,the important research is the hardware implementation,the software of FPGA and DSP, prototype and the performance test。This paper studies the more minutes principle and implementation of image tracking algorithm,Using multimode tracking algorithm,based on the hardware platform,make the image tracking apparatus has a good real-time performance and stability。It has about several innovations:(1) the use of LSI,to achieve the miniaturization of the system;(2) FPGA implementation of image data filtering to improve the system’s commissioning and maintenance;(3) adopted the “ hardware implementation software ” design thinking,expanding the FPGA application in image processing technology;(4) Used Multi-mode tracking algorithm to improve the image tracker tracking stability and reliability。On this base,the tracking performance of tracking is verified,the key is the stable tracking ability in the process with the target changes from small to big with a rapid speed,and the ability to resist rotation。Test results show that the image tracker has good tracking stability for multiple targets under the conditions of different background,and it has a certain target rotational resistance.Finally the merits of the tracker are summarized, and the deficiency and improvement measures are put forward.
