As the important carrier of imformation, the image is the main source of the access to obtinning information. So the video monitoring terminal based on image acuision transmission has been widely used in people’s lives. The tranditional video monitoring terminal have a lot of shortcomings, such as high cost and power consumption, big volume and use poor flexibility and extensibility. On the contrary, the video monitoring terminal based on embedded technology can effectively imoprove the shortcoming of traditional video monitoring terminal, and has the advantages of low cost, small volume,low power consumption, convenient communication, strong expansbility,etc. At present,the vast majority of embedded video monitoring terminal use USB camera with embedded processor DSP and FPGA, this scheme not only has complicated software and hardware structure, relatively large power consumption, high cost but also has bad reliability because of USB camera, it is not conducive to the high reliability requirements situations.In view of the above problems, this thesis combined with the specific requirements of the project, was proposed S3C6410 processor based on ARM11 with embedded Linux operating terminal, drivering CMOS OV9650 camera module,finally builds a video monitoring terminal with multi-channel image acquisition 、 low-cost 、 high performance 、 small volume and low power comsumption. The work of this thesis mainly divided into the following several spects:(1)Firstly, this thesis studies the development of the video monitoring terminal,analyzes the problems and shortcomings existing in the traditional video monitoring terminal. According to these problems and dificiencies and combining with the specific needs of the project, this thesis demonstrates the key technologies and solutions of the terminal and ultimately determines the solution based on S3C6410 processor and CMOS OV9650 camera module.(2)Completed the construction of the development environment, the main work includes: the transplantation of Bootloader, Linux operating terminal kernel cutting and transplant, as well as the root file terminal.(3)Completed driver pogram of the CMOS OV9650 camera module in Linux.(4)Completed the video monitoring terminal application software development,including image acquisition module, image compression coding module and transmission module of software design.(5)Tested and analyzed the completed embedded video monitoring terminal.After the test, the embedded monitoring terminal designed by this thesis can reach the expected design task and target. Last in the thesis points out the weakness of the thesis and suggestions for improvement.
