Embedded Linux is a kind of operating system which can be transplanted and tailored based on linux system and can run on the embedded CPU.Embedded Linux is an integrated kernel system.It is increasingly popular because it has the advantage of stable performance,open source code,portable tailor and transplant and short cycle of new product design and development.Embedded Linux applies in various fields.Both video monitoring and network transmission has its application.It has promoted video monitoring technology to develop towards digitized data process,networked transmission path and intelligentized management.Embedded Linux applies in video monitoring field,which can not only improve the quality of the video monitoring effects but also make video image acquisition system develop towards diversified direction and broaden its application field.This thesis firstly summarizes the research actuality and development trend in the areas of embedded Linux system,video image acquisition and wireless transmission,and then designs and develops a kind of system about video image acquisition and wireless transmission combined with the embedded system advantage of stable performance,low power consumption and small volume.The server is built in the data acquisition side to acquire,process and transfer video image data.The client uses phone and computer to receive video image data in the way of wired or wireless transmission.The content of this thesis includes hardware selection and platform building,embedded Linux transplantation and tailor,the development and test of the drivers of USB camera and USB wireless network card,the transplantation and application of mjpg_streamer.In the hardware side,the system uses samsung S3C2440 as the processor and uses USB camera and USB wireless network card as peripherals to develop and design the system.In the software side,the embedded system runned on ARM platform needs to be cross-compiled under the Linux enviroment of Interl platform.This thesis designs the drivers and develops the application program based on this system.Throughout the development process,the driver of embedded Linux plays a role of connecting link in the whole system.Therefore,this thesis mainly focuses on the USB driver,wireless network card driver and camera driver based on the V4L2 framework in Linux system.After researching the linux drivers emphatically,this thesis realizes the system of video image acquisition and wireless transmission.Finally,the thesis develops a kind of video image acquisition and transmission system.Compared with the traditional video image acquisition system,it not only can transfer video image data remotely,but also can transfer it wirelessly in local area.At the same time,the compression and transformation of image data is completed at the end of video image acquisition in order to improve the efficiency of CPU greatly.The system can give full play to its advantages in appropriate areas such as Smart Home.Meanwhile,it has the advantages of low cost,small volume,convenient installation,good function extension.This system has practically applicable value.
