The concept of Big Data has brought about numerous changes in different fields, including news industry. Data in traditional news production has produced further view for news industry. Since the successful data journalism practice has seized public attention in 2012, experiences from the outstanding cases have breathed life into this industry and led a clear path for data-driven journalism development in the future.This paper makes a list of successful data-journalism media team samples based on case study and literature data, reveals the data-journalism new production status, features and process of these medias based on the method of content analysis and case study.This paper reveals that, even though the data-journalism is an advanced new production mode, the average level of global data-journalism is in its junior progress, the well-expected predictable news remains particular case. The difference of data-journalism news production levels between China and other mature countries is relatively high, in production speed, data amount, visualization, etc. This paper gives a summarization of the general procedure of data-journalism news production, including data collection, data analysis and visualization.Based on solid case studies of data-journalism and traditional news production, this paper promotes the idea that data-journalism has changed the traditional news in many ways, including news producer, news production principles, news production strategy and new production forms.This paper finishes this research with the problems of global data-journalism news production, especially the difficulties Chinese media teams have encountered, and points out a few practical ways for Chinese media teams to achieve further development.
