In recent years, with the continuous development of information technology, the technology of Internet of things(IOT) has made great progress, and its application prospects becomes wider and wider. As an important technology in the IOT, the development of radio frequency identification(RFID) has attracted more and more attention. The UHF RFID reader with high performance and small size arises at the historic moment after the appearing of RF chips with low power consumption and wonderful capacities.This thesis proposes a high performance & multi-antennas UHF RFID reader based on the RF transceiver chip R2000 after analyzing and summarizing the common problems of the UHF RFID reader widely used in the market. The reader can identify electronic labels conforming to ISO 18000 6-B/C air interface protocol.The information of electronic tags returns back to the reader, and it will be shared through the Internet.First of all, the thesis briefly introduces the background and significance of RFID technology, and then describes its current development and research trends. The technology standards as well as system structures of UHF RFID are introduced. After summarizing the key technology of the reader, the circuit principle of structure is acquired. Then the details of the hardware circuit design based on R2000 including digital baseband circuit and RF transmitting & receiving circuit are described. This part focuses on the designing of RF circuits, including matched filter network, power amplified circuit, isolated transmitter & receiver circuit and multi-antennas architecture. In addition, the details of PCB layout design in RF are explained. Considering the characteristics of the reader given in this thesis, the software is proposed to realize specific functions in the system design. Through the use of special labels and encryption technology, the information security between the reader and tags is realized. Finally, the tests of the UHF RFID reader hardware circuit as well as the whole machine system are implemented, which can verify the whole circuit design has reached the requirement.The key designing points of the high-performance and multi-antennas reader system are as follows:1. During the process of designing hardware circuits, integration chip R2000 is adopted to simplify the structure of RF transceiver link and improve the stability of the whole RF circuits. By using cascaded RF switched architecture, multi-antennas structure is designed to identify tags at high speed without missing.2. At the design of software system, special electronic tags are used to ensure the information security of the label through the encryption technology of software in PC.
