Modern electronic technology advances, with the development of electronic technology, passive surface mount components has been more widely used, especially in the design of high-frequency circuits, surface mount components have become an essential circuit elements. Therefore, studying and designing high frequency surface-mount components measurement method, and getting accurate high-frequency components characteristic parameters are very important for the design and application of surface mount components in the high frequency circuit. However, measurement methods for passive surface mount components is very limited at present, the measurement technology of radio frequency band is more a lack of. Through in-depth study of the theory and technology, this thesis presents a method for testing SMD(Surface Mounted Devices) components in the 45MHz~12GHz frequency range, and by actual measurement results validate the reliability of the measurement system.The main work and contributions of this thesis are:1. A study of the major methods to measure passive SMD components. Based on comparative analysis, this thesis choose the method of microwave network analysis, using a vector network analyzer and the designed text-fixture direct measurement of S-parameters of SMD components;2. After studying and analyzing the vector network analyzer error models and calibration methods, this thesis combining the TRM(Thru-Reflect-Match) and TRL(Thru-Reflect-Line) calibration method, the measured frequency range extended;3. Put forward the design requirements of the text-fixture, and design the test fixture and the calibration circuit with related software and, in practice, summed up the experience and many improvements and optimization are made to the test fixture, Finally produced a qualified and wide applicability text fixture;4. The high frequency equivalent circuit model of capacitance, resistance and inductance element is analyzed, completed experimental data processing program;5. The patch element are measured, the results of data are processed, Get the characteristic parameters of elements.Verified by theoretical analysis and practical measurement results, show that the analysis of microwave measurement theory is correct; the TRM and TRL combination calibration method to extend the measurement frequency range is feasible; the design of the adjustable text-fixture can achieve actual effect, the application range is wide, the measurement results obtained are accurate; measurement system designed in this thesis is feasible and reliable.
