The trial-mounting experiments need to be repeated with the information of surface mount file in order to ensure the assemblability of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) by manufacturing personnel in the traditional process of surface mount production. With the development of Surface Mount Technology (SMT), the traditional technology of surface mount production can not meet electronic manufacturing requirements of short-period, low-cost and high-quality. However, there is a little detailed research about this problem at home and abroad. The computer is used to check the design file and generate the surface mount file quickly. The number of trial-mounting operation can be decreased, and the time of surface mount production can be shortened before surface mount in this way. Therefore, the research has important researching significance and good practical value in the area.Based on the research of traditional process of surface mount production, and combined with the actual situation of PCB production, the idea of surface mount pretreatment is proposed in this paper. At the same time the surface mount pretreatment system is developed. According to the diversification of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) file format and the requirement of inputting data for every module in the system, the idea of unified data source is proposed, and the common structure of middle file is designed; the algorithm of quick check for high-density electronic circuits is designed, with which the quick check of PCB is achieved; the three-dimensional (3-D) simulation model is established, which based on the two-dimensional (2-D) information of PCB in the middle file, then the 3-D simulation of PCB is achieved with the technology of OpenGL; the sorting strategy of alphanumeric mixed string is designed, and the quick generating of surface mount file is achieved.Practical applications indicate that the surface mount pretreatment system can check of EDA design file quickly, simulate of PCB components really, and generate of surface mount file rapidly before surface mount manufacturing. It shortens the productive cycle and reduces the productive cost of surface mount.The check of electrical schematic diagram, the joint check of PCB and electrical schematic diagram, and the method of automatic re-named components in the generating process of surface mount file will be researched in the future.
