The Ka-band phase-locked frequency hopping source was studied. The principle of lock-in and the causes of lock-in frequency source phase noise was analyzed. The reason of stability of phase-lock frequency hopping source was discussed and a millimeter-wave frequency source was developed basing on the discussion.The first chapter was composed of five sections. The characteristics of the millimeter wave 、 the functions of millimeter wave frequency synthesizer 、 the development background of lock-in technology、the development status of frequency source at home and abroad were introduced respectively and then the study goal was presented in the fifth section.The second chapter was composed of four sections and the principle of phase-locked loop was introduced. Three main components of the phase-locked loop, namely: phase detector、loop filter、VCO were introduced respectively in first section and The basic equation of phase-locked loop was also analyzed. In the second section,the transfer function of loop filter was introduced and the factors affecting the stability of the loop、capture performent of the loop and the phase noise of phase-locked loop were analyzed. In the third section, the operating principle of the digital phase-lock loop was introduced. In the fourth section, summary of this chapter was presented.The third chapter was composed of six sections and the principle of multiplier was introduced. The application、principle、classification、key indicators of multiplier and the principle of active multiplier were introduced respectively in the first five sections. In the sixth section, summary of this chapter was presented.The fourth chapter was composed of eight sections and the design process of Ka-band low phase noise phase-locked frequency source was introduced.In the first section, the technical indicators to be achieved was introduced. In the second section, any ways to realize the project was introduced and the appropriation design was selected. In the third section, choosing key components of selected design was introduced. In the fourth section, the technical indicators was analyzed based on the second and third section. In the fifth section, the circuit design of phase-locked frequecy source was introduced based on the second to fourth sections. In the sixth section, electromagnetic compatibility design was introduced. In the seventh section, process design of phase-locked frequency source was introduced. In the eighth section, summary of this chapter was presented.In the fifth chapter, assembly、debugging、measurement of the ka-band low phase noise frequency source was introduced and the measurement result was analyzed.In the sixth chapter, summary of this dissertation and the prospect of continuation work was presented.In this project,base on the principle of phase-locked and multiplier, the ku-band frequency hopping signals was got by the way of phase-locked,and then the ka-band signals was got after frequency multiplication.The experiment result show that the output frequency was 30~31GHz,the phase noise was-96.98dBc/Hz@10kHz, spurious suppression was 80 dB.The performance of this frequency source fully met the requirements of the key project.
