In era of the great data network diversity, people built by the communication structure, management, storage unit of a computer system and storage area network(SAN) to solve the problem of network, data transmission and storage. But because of the existing network at the same time there are two kinds of Ethernet and optical fiber transmission mode, the interconnection between them in the produce of redundancy at the same time also greatly improved the network failure, therefore, how to store up and became a new trend of development of network and Ethernet fusion.Today’s Ethernet can be integrated with the storage network mainly has the fusion of Ethernet and iSCSI, NAS based on Ethernet and SANs the three based on Ethernet and optical fiber, in these three, because the fiber optic network has the advantages of high-speed, no packet loss and low delay, so the fusion of SANs and Ethernet was seen as the best choice for Ethernet storage. Software defined network(SDN) puts forward the control level of abstraction technology, through the OpenFlow network control and data separation equipment, through the software to define the logical network topology, so as to realize the flexible control of network traffic, at the same time the control level of abstraction to expand on the network management and design ideas, make us in the design and management of the entire network has great flexibility. This for the research of this topic provides ample theoretical basis.In view of this topic is the basis of the existing Ethernet and optical network, so we should not only know SAN and Ethernet, familiar with their working mode and technical characteristics, also need to select the parts we need from the Ethernet and modified to apply to the improvement of SAN, at the same time, also need to analyze the existing switches to extract the useful part of fusion, so the core work of this topic is how to make use of the existing norms and standards, a new fusion processing model, the original equipment and efficient integration, as a new type of whole.Firstly the background of this project, task, research significance and theoretical basis of systemic introduction, then existing ordinary SAN network storage technology, Ethernet and fusion of Ethernet technology made a detailed comparative analysis it is concluded that the fusion of SAN network advantages of Ethernet technology, determined to SDN based centralized architecture to realize the fusion of SAN and Ethernet, then the scheme for the frame design, process design and software design, and the process of every important module separate design and implementation, and then the process integration and reliability analysis and execution efficiency of optimization. Finally, according to the characteristics of the technology to put forward the reasonable test scheme and test environment, and the corresponding test, according to the test results are analyzed in the whole scheme is practical and performance analysis.
