The Hardware System Design Of The Two Layer Smart Ethernet Switch

This paper introduces the development status, characteristics, working principle,switching method and the performance index of Ethernet switch.Describes a POE functionwith two layers of smart Ethernet switch design.This paper design the software andhardware system.The hardware design includes power supply, the CPU subsystem, switchsubsystem, clock circuit, reset circuit and POE module.The software design includesoftware command.And design the switch PCB board, including the design of PCBplate,component layout and PCB layout.Then the performance of PCB was tested,including the clock signal test, DDR2and Flash read and write test, SMI test, SGMIIinterface test.Through the signal integrity and function test showed that the two layer,intelligent Ethernet switch with POE function design can accomplish the basic exchangeperformance and safety specification test.Can provide two layer switching function,network management, quality of service priority management, flow control and otherfunctions.This design can apply to the internal data of large enterprises high speedswitching, office and home network.
