With the development of space technology, the space communication system hasincreasingly become core system, therefore the switching network in space which takethe responsibility for the communication system face a greater challenge, so it is urgentto design a new high-performance switch which is suitble for the space applicationarea.The ethernet is widely used in terrestrial LAN-networking for its maturity andflexibility, while the AFDX prevail in aviation field for its QoS assurance andhard-redundancy. So this paper presents a new switch network which combineskilomega switch enthernet with AFDX based on the laboratory research project"Research on technology of network switch in XXX information system ", moreover,in order to meet the increasing demand and taking into account the future needs ofscalability, this paper research and implement the switch based on the switching unitsof24×24three-stage Clos(24,4,8) switching fabric in MSM mode with an orthogonallink routing algorithm.Firstly a brief introduction of two typical high-speed LAN technology which areEthernet and AFDX and a brief analysis and comparison of network structure is givenin this paper, Then the overview design of the whole structure of the high-performanceswitch as well as the each stage chip is given based on the laboratory research project,Thirdly the routing schedule of the multi-stage switch as well as the princple andimplementation of the orthogonal link routing algorithm was keyly described in thenext, and the key moudle in the input-stage switch unit are particular described andimplemented.At the end of this paper, the orthogonal link routing module as well asseveral key modules in the input-stage switch unit are timing simulated by Modelsim.According to the simulation results, the correctness, rationality and feasibility of thisdesign are verified, And the desired research target is finally achieved.
