Due to the rapid development of the society, the development level of video monitor technology is getting better and better. In some situations with special applications, it is inevitable to avoid the high voltage, high magnetic field, electromagnetic pulse. However, in this case, it is difficult to place the cable for the existing video monitor equipments. Therefore, the power supply will be very difficult. In order to achieve the controllization of the special occasion, it is obviously very urgent that a continuous supply of safe and convenient energy be applied.Power-over-fiber technology can transmit the energy from the high power laser to a specific places through the optical fiber, and through the photoelectric conversion, it has achieved certain direct current supply. This kind of technology has become a very attractive technology in some special occasions. Power-over-fiber technology can help the electronic equipments supplied by optical fiber to overcome the strong radio frequency noise, electromagnetic interference(EMI), high voltage electromagnetic field, etc. In the sensitive environment with discharge, the spark ignited by cable is very dangerous; however, optical fiber will not produce sparks, so optical fiber technology is very suitable for applications in these environments.Aiming at overcoming the deficiency of current video applications, this paper raises a kind of video signal transmission and processing system based on power-on-fiber technology. First of all, this paper introduces the distinguishing features of power-on-fiber and the special characteristics of the key components. By the comparative analysis, choose the suitable components and build the power-on-fiber system to test each component. Secondly, we make a remote video processing board with low energy consĪ¼mption and have a test on the energy consĪ¼mption to formulate the gap-type mode of video monitor based on power-over-fiber.
