With the development of portable electronic devices, such as camcorders, digital cameras, aptitude cell phone, etc, the performance of digital signal processing chips is expected to be higher. High speed and low power consumption have become two important indicators of digital signal processing systems in modern communication field. For traditional number systems, with the increasing of data’ bit, the delay becomes more large and large. Although traditional parallel processing technology can reduce the delay, it can make area and power become more large. So as a parallel number system, residue number system is used commonly in digital signal processing systems.As a parallel processing systems, the residue number system is different from the binary number system because of its un-weighted character and the independence of each of residue channel. It can decompose complex addition and multiplication into several simple modulo operation which can computed simultaneously. So the delay can become small and the area and power can’t become larger. So residue number system has huge potential in digital signal processing systems.Moduli set is the base of residue number systems. All issues about residue number systems can’t be off moduli set. The form of moduli set decides whether the residue number systems is complex or not. In digital signal processing systems, large number of addition and multiplication make the dynamic range of residue number system become more large and large. Scaling in residue number system can prevent the dynamic range to be large. And it is a main way to avoid the overflow of addition and multiplication in digital signal processing systems.This paper introduces the background and meaning of the task firstly, and then it introduces the theories about residue number system, and then aiming at the construction of moduli set and scaling technology in residue number system, this paper make a frondose study.(1) Base on dynamic utilization ratio, parallelism degree and balance quality, this paper evaluates the performance of familiar three moduli set and four moduli set respectively.(2) This paper proposes a new way of evaluating the performance of moduli set. Based on the complexity of modulo addition of every residue channel in residue number system, this way used the model of unit gate evaluates the performance of familiar three moduli set and four moduli set respectively.(3) Firstly, this paper proposes a new scaling arithmetic for {2 1, 2, 2 1}n n n? ?, which the scaling constant is 2n. The study indicates the performance in delay *area of proposed scaler is better than reference [48].(4) Firstly, this paper proposes a new scaling arithmetic for {2 1, 2, 2 1}n n n? ?, which the scaling constant is nn)12(2 ?. The study indicates the performance in delay and area of proposed scaler all are better than reference [50].
