With the continuous development of our economy, the port plays an increasingly important role as an important area of regions and countries to carry out the exchange of substances. Especially after China joining WTO, the port development in China is very quickly. In order to meet the needs of the new situation, many ports are expanding terminal, to increase the amount of goods stored in the port. In order to carry out scientific and effective management of the port’s cargo, and change the previous manual management mode, port cargo management system needs to be established based on computer technology and network technologyThe characteristics of RFID technology include large storage capacity, strong adaptability and safety and the RFID technology is developing rapidly in recent years. This article from the actual situation of our country port designed and implemented an port cargo management system using RFID technology. The main work of this paper is as follows:Firstly, the research background of port cargo management system are analyzed in this thesis, and the current situation of the development of system are introduced in the thesis, especially the development of RFID technology.Secondly, the components, working principle and technical characteristics of RFID technology are studied. Besides RFID, this paper has also carried on the structure of B/S, SQL learning Server technology and.NET technology.Thirdly, based on the actual port as the background, this article determines the overall architecture of the system after analysis of needs analysis, business analysis and data flow analysis. In the feasibility analysis, mainly analyses the technical and economical feasibility of the system. In the business process analysis, this paper mainly analyzes the following aspects,flow business of goods into the port, flow business of goods leave the port and the flow business of goods for daily monitoring.Fourthly, based on the overall structure, this article designed the module, database and hardware of the system. The method of system design is UML modeling, and this article gives the system use case diagram and data flow diagram. Database design and system function module design of system are introduced in detail. The module of the system includes system management module, goods in cargo port management module, goods out cargo port management module, goods check module, query statistics module and wireless communication module.Finally, implementation of the system is given by using RFID technology in the article. And the hardware realization, RFID read and writes realization and serial communication realization had been introduced specifically. The system development platform is Visual Studio 2005, the database is SLQ Server 2000, development language is C#, the system architecture of three layers structure of B/S. In this system, the electronic tag is the choice of UHF Passive RFID tag. At last, this thesis introduces the system testing process. The test results show that the system can meet the basic requirements of port cargo management.
