With the rapid development of traffic engineering construction, more and more building, rebuilding and expansion of the traffic engineering need to complete the design work with computer. It produces a large number of electronic files with stored value. These files must be protected. But most of the traffic engineering design unit is not given enough concern to its electronic archives management in our province. On the whole, it stays at the level of PC connecting to the LAN at the design stage, net share when need, simple to division of labor cooperation and submit design drawings when it complete. These caused many disadvantages that the data redundancy is large, the graphic information data consistency, retrieval and reuse is very poor, the engineering drawings and electronic information security and integrity is seriously insufficient.This topic is in view of the above background, based on construction engineering quality management regulations, construction engineering survey and design regulations, measures for the management of highway engineering design, in combination with the road engineering design unit design workflow, carry on a targeted research, independent research and developed engineering design graphic management system that based on the LAN and use highway engineering project as the unit.The system adopt SQL Server 2005标准版database server base on Microsoft Windows 2003 Server企业版,use of existing computer network facilities,set up two layers of client/server structure of client/server computing model,mainly dedicated to solving highway engineering related units in the graphic information management problems and deficiencies,with fast access,share,good performance,high data security,etc,easy to design graphic electronic information for unified management,centralized backup,can guarantee the coherency of graphic electronic information data,to eliminate data redundancy and saving storage space,avoid affecting the integrity of electronic information engineering design due to the failures of individual computer hardware and software.
