With the ongoing of the work of adjustment and revitalization for Liaoning called the old industrial base, enterprise competition and market demand have become increasingly diversified. More and more small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises start to adopt the strategy of ordering production of manufacturing, however, with a market survey, most of the small and medium-sized machinery manufacturing enterprises manage most of the paper form information by manual force, which not only wastes a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources, but also directly affects the work efficiency in the mechanical manufacturing enterprises. With the rapid development of computer technology and network technology, it is necessary that with the help of advanced information technology a complete set of order management system should be designed, combined with the management mode of machinery manufacturing enterprises, in order to promote the informationization level, which can promote business synergies, improve working efficiency and enhance competitive ability of the enterprises.This paper first introduces present situation and development trend of order management in the mechanical manufacturing enterprises. Then the key techniques in the process of software development for the order management are analyzed and discussed. This paper focuses on the process for the design of the order management system based on ASP.NET, including need analysis, general design, detailed function design process, etc. This system is not pure B/S structure, but based on the powerful network technology and the quality order management strategy, which can not only realize the simplicity, efficiency and safety in local area net, but can be remotely operated through the Internet network as well. Finally, the paper summarizes specific work, analyzes existing problems and the need of further improvement for the order management system.This system is developed based on the project of the order information construction for YINGSHUO Machinery Factory in Dong Gang City. The main purpose is to improve the level of the enterprise order management and realize the standardization, scientization, and informationization of order management. This system mainly solves the problems, such as inquiries before ordering, order production schedule and production schedule tracking after ordering, and the collection, sales and delivery during marketing. It is estimated that the successful implementation of the whole system will be able to fully improve the efficiency of enterprise staff office and the enterprise’s competition strength. Its main functions include the followings: department information, customer information, manufacturer information, material information, drawings management, inquiry enquiry, quotation enquiry, order entry, price checking, order ending, production tracking, production arrangement, quality inspection report, prompt entry, bill entry, payment voucher entry, bank of cash, prompt enquiry, bill enquiry, payment voucher enquiry, order list, and permissions setting and so on.
