As the continuous development of the computer technology and increasingly updating of the hardware and software,virtual reality,acting as a representative technique of future development,is widely used in various social fields,including computer games,films and animations, industrial simulation,military simulation and so on.The realistic simulation of the natural scene,acting as a branch of virtual reality,is always regarded as one of the most-watched research points for its complex characteristic.Ocean scene,acting as a part of it, has various forms,changes randomly and happens with various interactions,so the realistic simulation of the interacted ocean system is more challenging in this field.The main research contents of this thesis:1.This thesis adopts the algorithm of projected grid to model the ocean surface,which is accorded with the pattern of human eyesight.In this way,the grid has LOD effect and can be boundless.2.This thesis adopts perlin noise as the disturbance source to simulate the up-and-down form of the waves,as well as improved harmonic interpolation method in structuring perlin noise, to obtain better results.3.This thesis adopts the technique of normal disturbance to map the texture to ocean surface.In this way,the surface texture can not only reflect the rough effect seen by each angle,but also realize an ideal visual effect in condition of low-resolution grid of ocean surface.4.In terms of the light interaction,this thesis adopts the technique of texture mapping to simulate the global reflection of ocean surface,together with HDR,the technique of high-dynamic range to simulate the high-light reflection of the sun.What’s more,this thesis adopts the technique of render-to-texture,which means RTT,to simulate the reflection of objects nearby and the underwater refraction. At last it simulates the undersea caustic according to dynamic texture mapping.5.In terms of the marine weather,this thesis adopts the way of particle system to simulate the weather of rain and snow.6.In terms of the physical interaction between the ship and the ocean,this thesis adopts the method which combines Kelvin model with particle system to simulate the wake caused by the sailing ship.What’s more, it simulates the up and down effect of the ship according to the six-degree-of-freedom.
