Virtual Reality is a new technology developed recently, which integrates many information technology and gives us a strong support in building and roaming in virtual world. Virtual Reality has been used in many fields. In virtual scene, especially in outdoor virtual scene such as flight simulation, game and war game system, dynamic water scene is very important parts. Water scene is composed of clouds and waves. Presently, compared with these methods designed for dynamic clouds and waves respectively, there has been very little work focusing on realizing them synthetically.Based on the former research of the dynamic cloud and wave, the main work in this paper is focused on the modeling of the dynamic water scenes by combing the real-time dynamic cloud modeling algorithm proposed by Qin Bo, etc. and the projected grid algorithm, a wave simulation one, proposed by Johanson. The former one adopted the cellular automaton, multiple scattering to model and the impostor to render clouds. By combining the projected grid and the hardware, the wave algorithm can accelerate the rendering of the water scene. As displayed as the experiment, the method of dynamic water scene modeling and rending this paper propose combines the dynamic cloud algorithm and waves algorithm, that is projected grid very well. Our method take good advantage of graphical hardware to display the dynamic water scene with a high degree of reality and speed.
