Design And Implementation Of Hotel Guest Room Management System

The modernized hotel is an integrated consumption place, which collects the function of guest room, food and beverage, amusement, commercial culture and other various kinds of services and facilities. The hotel has a huge organization, there are many service items and the amount of information is large. If you want to improve efficiency, lower costs, improve service quality and management level, promote economic benefits, you must rely on the computer to conduct the modernized information management. This system is mainly designed for the hotel room management; it is developed and carried out by using SQL Server 2005 database system and PowerBuilder programming language. It has many features-simple operation, friendly interface, good flexibility, high system safety, and stable performance, thus makes it the best choice for hotel managers. This paper take the present development situation of hotel industry as a background, elaborates the necessity of the hotel guest room management information by analyzing the insufficiency domestic hotel industry under the traditional management pattern. Through visiting several of hotels, embarking from the service of guest room, establishes the hotel guest room management information system organization model. On this foundation, it carries out the close investigation of the guesthouse guest room service flow, establishes the function structure drawing, such as the customer entrance, the member registration, guest room returning and so on, thus to achieve the transparency of supervisory work. Embarking from the actual demand, this system has been establishing the concept structure, proposing the system design principle and the design method, giving the database realization plan and developing a practical hotel room management information system. The paper carries out a detailed analysis and designs of the hotel room system from the prospective of service; moreover it carries out an evaluation to the system. System design is divided into five main stages: System analysis phase: I explain the main purpose of system development, discuss the feasibility of development, conduct the needs analysis that the main function of the system need to complete, and determine the data flow diagram of each module; Overall Design: In the design of each functional module based on the discussions, I carry on the detailed design of database, The system is divided into nine function module: It includes rooms type management, rooms information management, rooms state management, reserving management, occupancy management, billing management, check-out, printing bill and housing state statistics; Detailed design stage: In accordance with the designed system structure, I design according to the design good system structure, the system menu, window object, each control button, data window object that are the visual interface and the function module; System coding phase: According to the content of the detailed design, I code the system and on schedule develop a stable, reliable system; System test phase: I conduct the functional testing, performance testing and interface testing of the hotel business management system.
