At present, the electric power communication network in Linfen is the SDH network which has the advantages of low cost and dependable. However, with the increasing of the amount of data transmission of electric power communication network,the development of IP data services and the increasing bandwidth demands, the existing network has been unable to meet the communication needs of Linfen. "The 11 th five-year plan" period, State Grid Linfen power supply company carry out a plan of large-scale construction and improvement and the operation level of power communication is improved.Firstly, the research of ASON optical network status and optical fiber communication network at home and abroad is summarized in this paper. The optical fiber communication network includes: optical fiber Ethernet backbone network, optical transmission network, synchronous digital system and automatic switched optical network. In accordance with the actual problem and construction target of Linfen region,design of the electric power communication ASON network is determined. This is determined of the 12 th five-year plan. The scheme of Linfen region build 8 substations with three direction 10 G ASON network bandwidth and the 220 kV substation increase form 10 G multiplexing reuse aura accordingly. County county within the scope selecte the 110 kV site to set up corresponding 2.5G/622 M multiplexing reuse aura. Space truss structure of ASON network skeleton, SDH ring trunk and 2.5G/622 M ring branch is given. Finally, the economic efficiency and the work efficiency of reconstruction is analyzed. The ASON reform will make the electric power communication network meet all kinds of needs.
