Antenna is used to send and receive electromagnetic waves. Electron is converted into photon by the antenna, or vice versa. So the antenna has become the essential part of the wireless communication equipment. In recent years, rapid development of wireless communication, all kinds of wireless communication equipment have emerged. The mobile phone is the most popular wireless communication equipment in today’s society. Now mobile phone has become the necessities of people’s life. It is not just simple communication equipment. It is sets a variety of functions such as communication, entertainment in one of the portable wireless equipment. With the wide application of 3G and 4G, the LTE mobile antenna developed rapidly, the mobile phone antenna will cover more bands in the limited space in the future. So the future trend of the mobile phone antenna must be miniaturized, multi-band and broadband.In this paper, the design method of the antenna is studied. Two mobile phone antennas are designed. And use Ansoft HFSS 13 simulation and optimization the designed antennas. Antennas can meet today’s requirements, and they have a broad application prospect. In this paper, the main contents include 3 chapters as follows.1. Introducing the development of mobile communication systems, and the research history and current situation of the mobile phone antenna. And describe the arrangement of this paper.2. Introduced the basic theoretical knowledge of the mobile phone antenna, the performance parameters of the antenna, and the common classification of the mobile phone antenna, etc. Then detail presentation of methods of achieving internal antennas’ miniaturization, multi-band and broadband for the mobile phone, and the new processing technology of the mobile phone antenna.3. Two design examples of mobile phone antennas are given out, including a six-band LTE mobile phone antenna of working for the GSM900/DCS1800/PCS1900/UMTS2100/LTE2300/2500 band and a seven-band LTE mobile phone antenna of working for the GSM850/900/DCS1800/ PCS1900/UMTS2100/LTE2300/2500 band. Then simulation and optimization of these two mobile phone antennas are presented by using the HFSS. An actual model has been prototyped for testing. The simulation results show that it meets the requirements of mobile communication terminals for phone antennas.At last, summarizing the total work, give out what needing to be improved in this design, and look forward to the future work plan.
