The Study Of Setting The Agenda Of New Year’s Day Editorial Of People’s Daily

People’s Daily is one of the world’s top ten newspaper,also is China’s largest newspaper.People’s Daily is the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.Ithas always worked as “ears.eyes and mouth” of the CPC and its Government,which plays animportant role in controlling and guiding public opinion.People’s Daily deliver its specialeditorial on each new year’s day issue,which is known as New Year’s Day editorial.Someopinions go that NUDE shows what principles and policies would be conducted by the CPC inthe following year.It’s main function is to set agenda.This is why I selected New Year’s Day editorials（1949-2015）to do agenda-settingresearch.With the help of SPSS and EXCEL,I analyzed all these67texts from the perspective ofCommunication based on content and data.In order to make my study easier and clearer,I dividedthese editorials into four groups according to its historical background. From each group,Ichoose some typical fragments to explore, concludeing that People’s Daily editorial features ofthe New Year in different historical periodsDifferent from previous studies,My essay focus on agenda-setting theory.This study useagenda-setting for this theoretical perspective, using of content analysis of text analysis,combined with the development of social history, exploring its changes for76years,analyzing itscharacteristics and shortcoming. This study hopes to give our party newspaper editorials someenlightenment in the future agenda-setting and writing and has a certain significance and studyvalue.The essay has three parts: Introduction,main body and epilogue.Main body contents4chapters.In the first part,I explained the significance of this study, study review, study methods andgave some definitions of People’s Daily.The first chapter describes the content analysis. Through statistical analysis of the data, thisstudy summarizes development trends and characteristics.New Year’s Day editorial of People’s Daily is divided into four periods in the second chapter,Summed up the New Year editorial of People’s Daily setting the sgenda characteristic in differentperiods by data. The third chapter discuss revelation of New Year’s Day editorial of People’s Daily, fromdifferent aspects: social cohesion and consensus,right to speak,the news and promotional,strengthening agenda-setting,concept of communication.Epilogue summarized the achievement of research and put forward inadequate of thisresearch.
