ArcGIS API For JavaScript Development Technology Research

The traditional patterns of all tasks are carried out on the server side has been changed by RIA. It not only reduces the burden of network traffic and server, but also improve the processing and interactive capabilities of the client.This thesis describes the REST-style architecture, resource location and implementation patterns. REST service-side developed by using ASP.NET MVC. The client uses the Dojo development framework, implements access to REST servers. There are Map Server and Feature Server two types by ArcGIS Server publishing. From the client to access server, to test if it completely accords with RESTful style. The WebGIS application is implemented by using ArcGIS API for JavaScript. The functions of zooming, querying and editing are implemented. On the basis RIA feature to analyzing the service interfaces of ArcGISDynamicMapService Layer and FeatureLayer. Finally discussed the development ArcGIS API for JavaScript characteristics, and compares the ArcEngin application development.
