As one of the four key technologies of Internet of Things, Wireless sensor network(WSN) is the focus of study in many disciplines. As main component of IOT, wireless sensor networking is helpful to promote the development of the Internet of things in the social life of information awareness and information interoperability and intelligent decision-making ability. It will be expected to set off a third wave of the information industry. A typical WSN is composed by a abundance of tiny inexpensive sensor nodes and one or some base station, deployed to monitoring a certain area, with some features such as self-organizing, Multi-hop routing, dynamic topology, data-centric. How to reduce the energy consumption of WSN, delaying the node death, prolonging the life time of WSN has always been a hot issue in the research. Study of low-power wireless sensor network routing for extending the lifetime of wireless sensor networks is of great significance. In recent years, many representative low power hierarchical routing protocols for WSN were developed based on LEACH Protocol. These protocols produced very good results, but their simulation environment is somewhat idealized. Considering a kind of representative and closer to reality application of WSN- various data collection at the same time, we proposed a kind of improved LEACH protocol which is called ACPSEB-LEACH protocol. In ACPSEB-LEACH protocol, we separated the data-sensor cycle and communication cycle so that we can reduce energy consumption of some nodes by alterable communication cycle strategy.Different types of nodes can be distinguished by such method. On this basis, we optimized for both cluster head election and cluster formation to achieve global energy balance by bringing in node’s activity-level.Simulation results show that the improved Protocol can prolong network lifetime and have better results on the global energy balance.
