Wireless sensor networks emerge as the times require as a new technology ininformation field, which is composed by a large number of nodes with sensing capabilities, the ability of information processing and wireless communication capabilities of a newtype of multi hop sensor network. Because of its advantages in information processing andaccess to prominent, has been extensively applied in many fields of military, environmental, industry etc. However, the nodes of wireless sensor network are generally deployed in harshenvironments, post deployment will not be able to timely supply of energy. Therefore, thedesign of routing protocols is good or not, is the key to improve the communicationefficiency and prolong the network life cycle. This paper, Research and analysis of thecomprehensive system of the typical WSN routing protocol, the hierarchical routingprotocol LEACH has the outstanding representative in the application as the researchobject, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of LEACH, which is the starting pointof this argument, this thesis designs an improved routing algorithm, which LEACH-N. Ameasure of random number threshold formula of the algorithm for the classical LEACHprotocol cluster head election only by the nodes generated, but not related to the nodeenergy, density and the distance between the base station or other factors, put forward theimprovement the formula of energy, density and location based on the threshold, andbefore data communication, according to set a good the evaluation standard, the election ofcluster head in auxiliary individual cluster, will replace the cluster heads send data to thebase station. Finally, using OMNeT++simulation platform to simulate the improved LEACHprotocol in the network scenario, mainly to evaluate the performance of the improvedrouting protocol from two aspects, which the survival node number and node residual energy. Through the comparison of simulation data analysis shows that, compared to theclassical LEACH, LEACH-N better performance, more practical.
