Oral Historv-A New Way To Expand The Library’s Working Direction

In recent years, with the development of our society, more and more historians and other scholar become to pay their attention on oral history.They always thought oral history as a new way of historical research in China. Oral history is really different from literature data or other different kinds of historical data, it mainly comes from people’s memory which had existed in their brains for many years. Thus, with the promotion of the concept "oral history", libraries in many countries and regions have begun to collect oral history resources in the world, a variety of different types of oral history repositories have also established.As the main body of cultural services, library has the duty to make "culture" up with "social" dual.It also attributes of both property and unified in public libraries, and also reflects the value of the existence of libraries. Library is the bridge between the reader and the knowledge. It charged with carrying out social education, information technology knowledge, developing literature resources, save the task of human civilization. Libraries play its functions on making the reader feel happy and suffice when they come to the library. If the library became to pay their attention on the collection of oral history, the oral history will be well collected by the library that has many fist-class equipment, technology and other advantages.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is talk about the concept of oral history. The second is about analyzing the significance of the library.Then the third is mainly about oral history in other countries inside the world. The forth is about Chinese oral history. The fifth is the study of the way to carry out the work of oral history. In the end, the major about the sixth chapter is about "how to use the oral history at China’s public libraries". In a view of this, this paper discusses the concept of the oral history, and the development of oral history in the word. By the way, this paper also introduces the way to use the oral history in our country and how to use the oral history to make libraries working better in the future.
