Wireless sensor is a kind of distributed sensing network, composed of many small smartdevices with limited physical resources (computation, storage and wireless communicationability).It will be referred to the WAN,as a kind of the technology which has high andmulti-disciplinary cross has many advantages, such as: self-organization, dynamic topology andfast network, etc., so it is becoming a hot spot of the researchers. But on the designof the wireless sensor network protocol, there are some difficulties, such as: the energy of thenodes are susceptible to limit, topology structure will change frequently. Sensor node’s ownphysical resources is limited, So control the energy consumption of the effective node andextend the network life cycle totally become the goal that the routing protocols in wirelesssensor networks need to achieve it. Because of its good expansibility and high energy-savingadvantage, the protocol based on clustering technology becomes the most important directionfor the current researchers. The existence of the whole life and network throughput are theperformance evaluation indexes of the clustering algorithm.The paper summarizes some of the main content of wireless sensor network (WSN) indetailed, specific as follows:1.the definition and application field,2.the basic characteristics ofnetwork,3.the organization structure in the network,4.design goals and performance indicatorsof the clustering algorithm and routing protocol,5.some classical clustering algorithm androuting protocol.Then the article outlines the tuples of clustering algorithm-Leach clustering algorithm indetail, contains the concept, operation conditions and advantages and disadvantages. Then thepaper proposes a kind of clustering algorithm-EDLEACH based on the partial centralizedlocation and residual energy.then determine the optimal path used to improve the networkperformance. Finally in the MATLAB simulation software,Iselect the protocol simulationmodel of energy loss of LEACH, compared with Leach algorithm in live nodes and throughput directions.The simulation results show that compared with Leach algorithm, this algorithmimproves the node survival rate and network throughput, and prolong the network life.
