It has been a decade since the American media expect firstly brought the concept ofwe-media in2003. There is no doubt that we-media has changed people’s communication andlife style cataclysmically. With the Web2.0technology of the Internet comprehensivepopularization, the rapid rise of blog, podcast, micro-blog, Weixin, twitter, Facebook from themedia has subverted the previous situation that the traditional media information disseminationused to rule all the land. Such traits as the unprecedented changing form of we-media, roleshifting between audience and transmitter, ever-free civil information rights have started themedia change, also changed the dissemination of information ecology.As the brand new information tool, the we-media wins the favor of teachers and students inuniversities. It has the advantages of conveniently mobile operation, language fragmentation,simple way to obtain information and so makes on campus almost everyone use the we-media,and everyone is a publisher of information. But in the aspect of ideological and politicaleducation, we-media is not limited as a tool, and more importantly, it also played the function ofspreading ideas and concept of construction on the campus value. Because of the complexity,unpredictability and explosive, we-media has brought a series of challenges for collegeideological and political education.How to manage the campus from the media public opinion is the problem that alluniversities and colleges in each country are together faced with. Compared with China,American universities carried out earlier in we-media opinion management, and all schools haveformed their own management mode, whose methods are worth using for reference of collegesand universities in China. However, the fact that mangaging the online opinion too tightly inAmerican universities is contrary to the so-called "liberal democracy" and the spirit Americanpreach.In such a situation, in order to managing the we-media opinion in univrsities and colleges,universities should make full use of ideological and political education. Triple force should bemade by combining the strength of society, colleges and universities, which relies on theideological and political education principle. And in the light of the new situation in colleges and universities from the we-media public opinion, new strategy should be put forward for the newstage of the development of students, ideological and political education development and thedevelopment of colleges and universities we-media public opinion guidance.
