In the past few years, radar system based on high performance processor of Tiger SHARC series is widely used. With the development of radar signal processing technology, radar system has put forward higher requirements on the digital signal processor in real time processing, the research and application of new radar signal processing platform based on TI multi-core processors is becoming the industry trend.The implementation of the radar signal processing system signal processing software in TMS320C6678 based on a multiple channel radar engineering project is designed in this paper. It analyzes the radar signal processing technology under narrow-band and produces a simulated target by using MATLAB to simulate the above radar processing. Then it introduces the TMS320C6678 single core resources, multi-core shared resources, communication interface and SYS/BIOS real-time operating system. In the practical testing, TMS320C6678 single-core computing capacity can achieve even better performance than the monolithic TS201. By multi-core parallel computing it usually can meet the very complex radar signal processing algorithms requirements on DSP computing power.A simple data flow mode or parallel mode cannot well complete the large computation of multi-beam signal processing because of the particularity of the radar signal processing. This paper discusses the implementation of a mixed model of radar signal processing algorithm based on TMS320C6678, so it fully express the capacity of Multi-core characteristics. In this mode, all cores are divided into several groups, two cores in each group independently accomplish signal processing tasks of a beam, that is equivalent to the data flow model, and so four groups can complete multi-beam processing in parallel.A solution of large number of FFT which is widely used in broadband radar signal processing is introduced in this paper, this solution uses the parallel mode that tasks are equally distributed on each core, thus fully give play to the capacity of single core.Finally this paper mainly introduce several methods to optimize the program, thesemethods make a great promotion for the program on time in the implementation of more time-stringent algorithm.
