In the ever-changing backdrop of modern communication technology, combined with the third generation shortwave communication technology and the existed shortwave transformer and receiver, a research on HF (high frequency) automatic selection and link establishment system has been carried out in our lab. At the very start, the design scheme in using ATSAM9263 models of ARM board with WinCE system had been chosen, but in the progress of the project, we had found that the real-time ability of WinCE system can not satisfy the need of this system. Instead, a new ARM board was selected and the bare-metal architecture was adopted in the new scheme. This dissertation is mainly concerned with the interface and control software of communication control board. The author’s major work and contributions are outlined as follows:1. According to the system demand, the design of the communication control board in using ARM platform with bare-metal architecture has been confirmed.Firstly,the shortage of the original communication control system based on WinCE is analyzed. However, we find that the real-time ability of WinCE system can’t satisfy the synchronous mode of link establishment, and then the overall design of the communication control board based on TI-TM4C129 platform is given, the new development approach can well meet the requirements of the protocol in real-time.2. The interface software of each peripheral on the communication control board has been designed and implemented.According to the system demand,the relative peripherals interface software on the system control board function has been designed and implemented.The relative peripherals mainly include GPTM (system general-purpose timer), UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter), Ethernet and RTC (Real Time Clock). GPTM and RTC provide the basis of the time for link establishment protocol.System terminal module communicates with the control board through Ethernet,while the others through UART. This part is the foundation of the operation of system protocol software and control software.3. The software architecture of the communication control board based on TI-TM4C129 platform has been designed,a series of communication control software based on 3G-ALE technology has been implemented,and the interface software between the communication control board and other system modules(Modem, transformer, and receiver)has been implemented.The communication control protocols mainly include link establishing protocol, LQA (link quality analysis) protocol and frequency updation protocol.Link establishing protocol is used for accomplishing link establishment in different states,LQA protocol is responsible for the current link quality estimation, and frequency updation protocol is responsible for the link re-establishment on the new selected frequencies while the current channel conditions deteriorate.These protocols work collaboratively to complete the function of the establishment and maintenance of communication link.4. Under the indoor environment, combined with the HF comprehensive simulation device developed by our lab, the testing results of each functional module of the system have been shown. All modules work normally, including the interface software of each peripheral, the interface software, and the communication control software.The experimental results verify the validity of the design.
