With the continuous development of military technology, the requirement of radar’s function is higher and higher as radars play an important role in the field of military, and the analysis of radar’s performance is becoming a significant direction of research and development. The rapid growth of computer and software technology provides strong support for the software simulation of radar systems and their performance evaluation. However, current analysis simulations of the performance of radar are mostly programs based on some separate points and they usually lack systematicness, readability and interactivity. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to develop a radar performance analysis software with an intuitive interface by encapsulating and integrating different aspects of analysis of radar’s performance. In this thesis, a radar performance analysis software is designed and implemented by using the powerful graphical user interface of MATLAB according to the demand. First, the requirements of the software and the modules are analyzed and the design schemes of them are proposed. Then the basic theory and knowledge of each module are introduced and the specific principle is described to design and realize it. The antenna function analysis module achieves the goal of generating antenna pattern and calculating parameters including antenna gain. The ground-based radar’s rang analysis module contains manual input mode and data guid mode to compute the rang. The improvement factor and radar’s detecting range in the clutter condition analysis module completes the function to work out the limitation on improvement factor and analyze radar’s rang in consideration of clutter. The radar’s tracking precision estimation module is used to reckon rang error and angle error. Meanwhile, the design process and applied results of each module are shown, which prove the practicability and operability of the software. We finally get a summary of the software to further illustrate the practical application value and instructive function of it in analyzing performance indicators of radar system.
