Along with development of computer, a growing number of people pay attention to the software simulation of maritime surveillance radar system because of its low cost and high efficiency and high speed of simulation. It also provides theory basis for project demonstration and prepares for the production of the radar system and shortens the research time and reduces the waste of resources.By calling the radar model library, we can establish the maritime surveillance radar system. This paper introduces two methods to establish radar model library. One is based on the platform of Visual Studio 2005, using c + + language. By using this method, every radar model is encapsulated into dynamic link library and module parameters save in the XML document. It realizes modularization and standardization of the radar model library. Another is using the graphical modeling environment software. This software realizes componentization and visualization of the radar model library. we can build the whole radar simulation system by dragging and linking graphical models.The overall scheme is proposed firstly on the basis of requirements of the marine surveillance radar system. Then we put forward a framework and some mathematical models required in the radar system according to the scheme including transmitter model, antenna model, simulation scene model, receiver model, signal processing model and data processing model. Through the analysis of the physical meaning and modeling method, the simulation results under certain parameters are given to check the correctness of the model. At last, the passenge introduces the work mode, the simulation parameters and the simulation results of marine surveillance radar system to verify the rationality.The display and control platform provides human-computer interaction interface which makes the operator realize the condition of surface and control the radar system. On the one hand, the various parameters and work_modes can be selected by the menu. On the other hand, the point information and track information can be viewed on the platform.
