The rapid development of information and communication technology and worldwide expansion of Neoliberal economy profoundly changed the form of producing and working,and also redefined labor value and the class status of labor.Knowledge economy especially creative industrier and informatization are considered as the neccessary choice to achieve national development and modernizations.Because of this,knowledge economy becomes a new myth.The flexible employment system which comforms with capital logic and marketization replaced the permanent employment system.Meanwhile knowledge work’s income,working time and place become flexible.The stability and security of knowledge worker’s work and life wre challenged.As technology advanced and globalization deepened,the labor market became surplus.Comsumption instead of production became the key impetus of capital gains.The social safety network of knowledge worker collapsed completely with the extinction of the welfare state.In the new society,the role and status of women changed alot.Numerous of women participate in multi-level jobs of knowledge economy.But traditional gender stereotype and sexual division of labor still play an important role in knowledge economy.Gender inequality in knowledge has no difference with other economy.Compared to men,female knowledge workers still suffer from more burden from both work and family.Media industry of China in the information age also cannot be immune to the trend.By market-oriented reform and employment system reform,media industry cater to the inner logic of market economy and cover the lacking care for the labor by a "promising freedom".By ethnographic approach and questionaire survey,combined with political economy of communication and gener theory,this paper investigated and studied the website editors in a Shanghai comprehensive website.By so this paper will enclose that although female network knowledge workers perticipate in the mordern knowledge economy.they are being proletarianized and impoverished because of the budget cut on social welfare by the state,the collopse of social security network,flexible employment system,technology exploitation,consumerism and gender inequality.
