With the rapid development of database technology and the wide use of the DBMS even the mass storage of information , data mining technology is becoming a hot research of current IT industry . The application of data mining technology to military equipment indemnification is still a new research field , the data mining research about military equipment indemnification in poor information system can greatly improve the equipment indemnification ability of our army in modern wars . The background of this thesis is the project of national defense science & technology pre-study foundation -"the database knowledge discovery technology on trend relational space"and the project of national natural science foundation of China -"the research on the module structure and controllable property of general decision support system", which are both in the charge of Prof. Chen , Mianyun, and on the basis of grey dynamic modeling theory and research on data mining , the research and discuss on the system modeling of military indemnification in modern wars are carried out ; the grey trend relational analysis and the data mining technology are combined effectively and applied to the military equipment indemnification . At first, the emergence and development of the grey system theory and the KDD technology is briefly introduced, then the problems currently existing in KDD technology is analyzed, and an idea of applying the grey system theory and the KDD technology to military equipment guarantee are provided. Secondly, the functions and applications of the KDD technology are introduced, and the development foreground and the challenges of the KDD technology are analyzed. Thirdly, the trend relational analysis and the grey modeling method for poor information system are introduced, and a grey modeling method based on value-inserted method compared with other modeling method is provided. Fourthly, the information needs in modern military equipment indemnification are analyzed, then a new idea of the KDD technology's application in military equipment indemnification is put forward, and an application model of the KDD technology in military equipment indemnification is established . At last , the data mining method of poor information in equipment indemnification is analyzed, then the military purchase problem is taken as an example for applying grey trend relational classification and the KDD technology to military equipment indemnification effectively.
