Study On The Strategies Of How Paper Media Realizes Convergence With We Chat

With the development of media technology, media convergence era has arrived. As traditional media like paper media has been hit by the rise of new media, it’s now facing severe challenges. The birth of We Chat is complied with the trend while mobile phones, a new communication tool and media, are widely used. Due to its promptness, low cost and privacy, We Chat has won a large number of users in a short period of time, which encourages paper media to have its own We Chat public platforms to transmit information and promote its brand. Then it analyzed the developmental strategies of the printed and We Chat platforms of Women Today Weekly and the practical activities and developing status of how Women Today Weekly uses its We Chat public platform to realize media convergence. Finally it discussed the problems that appears when paper media works with the help of We Chat,and proposed several solutions and suggestions.
