Microstrip antenna is a kind of patch antenna and it is widely used in people ’s life because it has the advantages of small volume, light weight, easy integration. The traditional antenna manufacture generally adopt the method of etching and electroplating and not only the production cost is high but also the production cycle is long. It becomes a developed direction of microstrip antenna manufacturing method in recent years that applying the three dimensional printing technology to the production of microstrip antenna. The 3D printing process affects the print quality of microstrip antenna directly, so it’s the key to improve the print quality of microstrip antenna that how to design the manufacturing process of 3D printing reasonably. The 3D printing process and method of microstrip antenna is studied in view of the problem of printing process is not mature. First of all, this thesis studies the spreading and molding problem of drops when ink drop impacts on the substrate. The spreading radius of drops after impacting on the substrate is deduced. The relationship between ink drop point spacing and the forming shape is analyzed and the optimal print resolution is obtained. Secondly, the key factors that affecting the printing quality of microstrip antenna in the process of 3D printing are studied. The problem of ink drop point offset is solved by the method of placement compensation, and the optimum printing process parameters are obtained by the method of experimental comparison and analysis. Thirdly, the 3D printing experiment platform of microstrip antenna is developed. A nozzle driver controller based on FPGA is designed and it solves the problem of nanometer silver conductive ink jet difficultly because of high viscosity and high density. On the basis of a commercial 3D printer, the 3D printing experiment platform is developed. Finally, the 3D printing experiment of microstrip antenna is completed. The result shows that the microstrip antenna model based on the printing process of this thesis has good electrical performance.
