In recent years, food safety has become a severe problem in China. With the advancement in science and technology, some new technologies such as remote sensing, RFID and GPRS have been applied to our daily life. During the process of food production and sales, tracking, tracing and supervising issues can be well solved with the usage of information sharing platform. This paper firstly explains the background and significance of information sharing platform on quality and safety of food supply chain, describes the state of arts in this field and states the research work in this paper.Secondly, by combining with the analysis of barcode, wireless sensor network and RFID, the related knowledge and technology of information sharing platform on supply chain are explained in detail. Meanwhile, in order to realize the effective management of information sharing platform, this paper investigates each stage of the food supply chain, highlighting the detailed demands at the different stage such as planting, processing, storage, transportation and sales. With the detailed analysis of demands, we can determine the system architecture and function structure, including data collection and information management. Then, the design of information application modules is also explained, covering web system architecture, user login module, user information management and system security. Finally, user login module is implemented and the corresponding core codes are provided. Presentation of information management module. Java is used as the programming language for the system, and mySQL is used for database development. A prototype system is developed based on the research in this paper.
