The Oriental Morning Post is a comprehensive daily which was bron in 10 years ago. Starting from the date of birth, this newspaper has experienced many changes, and has obtained remarkable achievement. But with the development of science and technology, the whole newspaper industry is facing tremendous pressure to survive. The media industry is changing at a breath-taking pace, creating both challenges and opportunities. As a result, media businesses need to create new business models and radically change their organisation.The newspaper industry enters 2012 neither dying nor assured of a stable future. The industry has rallied around a story about itself-that year-by year it is developing new digital products and new revenue streams to transition from dependence on print advertising. Facing the tough environment, many newspapers, including the Oriental Morning Post, choose to change, in response to new trends and fashion.Even if the newspaper industry can find a sustainable model online, moreover, those ratios mean newsrooms will be much smaller than they were a decade ago. But around the world, the transformation of the traditional media, especially newspaper industry, is a worldwide problem.The newspapers in many countries are trying to, but rarely successful experience. Chinese newspapers also met this challenge, but due to the differences in the policy environment, talent accumulation, system defects,, chinese newspaper is still difficult to take the steps of successful transformation.In this article, the author will analyze the failure of newspaper transformation and successful cases. And as the Oriental morning post an example, this article will try to analysis the success of the development of Chinese newspaper transformation path.
