Thermoluminescence is now widely used in radiation metrology, geology, ceramic age determination, solid defect analysis, oil exploration, biology and meteorology areas. Thermoluminescence researchers commonly focus on the study of luminescence mechanism and luminescence materials, which inevitably need thermoluminescence detection equipment, so this thesis, to design a thermoluminescence detection system, have a great significance.This thesis presents the generation principle of thermoluminescence, the applications in multiple areas, the working principle of thermoluminescence dosimeter structure, parameters and the properties of ready-made product instrument, mainly in design of a set of software and hardware system with thermoluminescence dose detection and thermoluminescence spectrum measurement. The hardware part of the system including the photomultiplier drive unit, signal processing unit, the sample temperature control unit, the auxiliary control unit, and main controller unit. Software part includes the host control unit and slave control unit. With the new feedback control structure, the system’s external electromagnetic interference can be effectively reduced, and the circuit structure also can be simplified. System adopts modular design method, so it’s convenient for debugging and meet the needs of the vast majority of measurements.We use the simulation software to simulate and validate the designed system, and propose a simulation method by means of microcontroller simulation thermoelectric optical-electrical model during the validation. Design of thermoluminescence measuring system has a certain theoretical and practical significance in building low-cost multipurpose measurement system for researchers who engaged in the thermoluminescence research field.
