Neutrino physics will be very active research area in the next 10 years to 20 years. The top priority is neutrino detection. The large area MCP photomultiplier tube(MCPPMT) is an essential part of neutrino experiment detection device. The performance indexes play a critical role in the next step of neutrino experiment.At present, foreign manufacturers of photomultiplier tube(PMT) basically include: Hamamatsu of Japan, BINP of America, BURLE of Russia. Among them, Hamamatsu company of Japan is the most powerful company. Hamamatsu has been successful in attending multiple international neutrino detection experiment. Hamamatsu can manufacture the spherical PMT in 5 inches, 8 inches, 15 inches, 20 inches. By contrast, the large area PMT of domestic is still in the backward state. So research of large area PMT is imperative.To meet the request such as quantum efficiency, single photoelectron and uniformity of photocathode, the basic performance parameters must be accurately tested before using and make sure the parameters meeting project requirements. Laboratory has established a set of accurate and rapid large area MCP-PMT test system. This system can test a MCP-PMT in 2 to 20 inches.The test system mainly includes black box, LED, DAQ data acquisition system, data processing system. The black box is professional for the large area MCP-PMT and can test a MCP-PMT in 2 to 20 inches every time. The LED fixed wavelength of 410 nm is placed at the top of the black box. The DAQ data acquisition system uses QDCV965 A to get MCP-PMT signal. The trigger signal is the light source drive at the same time, the datas from the data processing system are transmitted to computer to show and analysis for subsequent process.This paper mainly discusses parameters of MCP-PMT, the development of test system and the brief analysis of the parameters results of MCP-PMT. The research mainly includes the hardware component, data acquisition and data analysis. The parameter test mainly includes quantum efficiency, single photoelectron, uniformity of photocathode and aging analysis. The results show that gain reaches up to 107, P/V turns to be 2.78, heterogeneity of photocathode is less than 10% of 8 inches MCP-PMT, quantum efficiency of photocathode reaches up to 29.5% of 20 inches MCP-PMT.
