Fiber Bragg grating sensor is a type of passive optical components,which is widely applied in health monitoring of large-scale structure, because of its anti-electromagnetic,reusability, easy to implement distributed network measurement, etc. In the health monitoring structure, vibration information not only related to the various components of the security and stability of the structure, but also for covert military installations in terms of more significance. In this paper, adhesive FBG sensors is used to measure the vibration of condenser heat exchange tubes in marine steam power system.Firstly, we set out from the measurement principle of FBG, analyzed the sensing characteristics of FBG sensors, and simply deduced the FBG strain transferring based on existing FBG sensor strain transfer theory.Secondly, we analyzed the strain transfer of adhesive FBG sensors, using finite element software Comsol. Adhesive bonding properties, Young's modulus, adhesive layer thickness,and adhesion length were analyzed,and the influences of four factors to the strain transfer and the stress on the fiber were obtained. The results gave a certain reference to the adhesive FBG sensors.Then, we built the FBG strain sensing system based on the tunable laser, and compared the results of the FBG sensors and accelerometers by cantilever experiments. Good consistency of the frequency results lay a foundation to the FBG sensors arranged on the condenser in the future.Finally, we applied the FBG sensors to condenser heat exchange tubes in marine steam power system, and tested the vibration of the tubes by steam power test bench. Comparing the results of the FBG sensors and accelerometers, we can provide a certain reference to the application of FBG in this field.
