With the development of social and the continuous development of science and technology, the demanding of people for their own security of private property is becoming higher, the awareness of people’s security is also rising. Remote video surveillance is playing an increasingly important role in the protection of people’s private property. However, the current wireless video monitoring system are just recording videos, it requires manual watching and can not capture the interest portion of the extraction of objects, and thus it only has a simple watching function.In this paper, we use the method of combining the embedded technology, wireless communication technology and motion detection technology. We utilize S3C6410 microprocessor and embedded Linux operating system to achieve a small motion images monitoring systems.The entire monitoring system mainly consists of hardware and software parts.The part of hardware, we consider the basic functions and performance of monitoring system. The monitoring system use Samsung’s S3C6410 as embedded microprocessor; two 128 MB memory chip to form a 256 MB memory; use 256 MB NAND flash chip as the flash memory; design a USB Host for external USB camera port; use the RS-232 standard serial port to achieve the communication between demoboard and the PC; chose Vimicro’s USB camera ZC301 P as image capture module; select WM9714 as the coder-decoder chip to realize the capture and coding of audio signals, through the external speakers to achieve the alarm function; chose Huawei’3G module chip---EM770 W to achieve the transportation of motion images.The part of software, we chose embedded Linux as the software platform of the monitoring system, using V4L2 to achieve motin images capture. The core part of the software is the design of the motion detection algorithm. We use open source library---motion as motion detection algorithm which based on temporal difference. Due to deficiencies in the temporal difference detection, we improved the algorithm. By writing the main program of the monitoring system, we achieve the function of online alarm and send the motion images to userat the same time.Finally, the entire image monitoring system has been tested, the results of the test show that our system can basically accomplish the detection of moving object and alarm functions, it has some commercial values.
