In recent years, as China has entered the period of social transformation,the number of prisoner was increased gradually, prison management facing a difficult problem,sometimes jailbreak was happened. Therefore, we designed a handheld devices for monitor based on S3C6410, The prison guards could monitor and manage prisoner by using this device.Handheld monitor device is designed based on S3C6410processor with ZigBee communication, GPS positioning,3G communication, camera, real-time image transmission functions. It can accessing inmate’s watch information through the ZigBee communication, measuring the distance between prison guards and inmates using Received Signal Strength Indication and officer can monitor inmates closely. This device can achieve positing using GPS positioning function, it can get prison’s real-time information by3G communication function; the live image will be transferred to the Admin Center by Real-time Transport Protocol RTP protocol.This paper has designed and implemented a handheld monitor device,including hardware design, system migration and software design, designed hardware circuit which based on S3C6410including DDR dynamic memory,NandFlash,3G communication module, ZigBee communication module base on CC2430, GPS positioning module, LCD display and camera module, migrated Bootloader and Linux operating systems and build the file system for this handheld devices, migrated3G module’s program for surfing the net and RTP protocol library-JRTPLIB library, designed the program for image transmission base on JRTPLIB library, and designed the program for ZigBee communications and GPS positioning data analysis.Finally, we tested the handheld monitoring device successfully, the hardware testing, Linux system testing and software testing were passed, and this device is stable and reliable.
