Release of i Phone series by Apple Inc. each time causes a sensation in network media and innovations in both design and technology have become the focus for the public. Also the design aesthetics of i Phone series have become the focus for many researchers. To be specific, the subjects of such design aesthetics involve i Phone series, Apple Inc., and design aesthetics the interaction of which embody the appreciation of beauty. Design aesthetics reflects aesthetics demand, pursuit of beauty, and people’s attitudes towards life and integrates beauty in design, function, technology, ecology, color, and semantics.The thesis adopts the integrated method of theoretical research and research of present situation in order to illuminate and solve problems by applying theory into cases.The thesis aims to summarize aesthetic categories by analyzing the subject of design aesthetics of i Phone series. The six categories are as follows: beauty in form featuring simplicity; beauty in function featuring practical and convenient use; beauty in technology featuring the combination of technology and innovation; beauty in ecology featuring harmony of coexistence of heaven, man and object and development; beauty in color featuring elegance and brightness; beauty in semantics featuring brand recognition and cultural elements. The analysis of features of design aesthetics in i Phone series will be conducted in order to make clear the recognition and expression of design aesthetics in the design of i Phone series. In addition, the thesis sums up certain methods of expression of design aesthetics in i Phone series such as enhancement of user experience via exploration of design details, combination of innovative technology and market demand, and combination of humanism and social development.It can be concluded that certain aesthetic perception and concept in both physiology and psychology can be achieved through design and people can abstract and theorize such perception and concept in order to obtain useful information which might be conducive to future design activities and distillation of people’s aesthetic idea.
