In China, the livestock and poultry industry is gradually developing to scale and intensive, and large integrated farms have begun to appear. To ensure the quality and yield of livestock and poultry products, it is vital important to create a healthy culture environment. Because a culture environment could ensure a suitable environment for the growth of livestock and poultry, at the same time it can effectively reduce the incidence of animal diseases and promote the healthy growth and related products of livestock and poultry. Due to the good control effect, Axial fans, cooling wet curtain, fluorescent and other environmental control equipments have been widely used in livestock and poultry industry. At present, a combination of artificial and electromechanical is still used as the way to control the environmental control equipments, the control method depends on the operating experience of management staff, the level of automation is low and can’t meet the needs of large-scale aquaculture development. In recent years, the China experts and scholars have gradually begun to study on farm environmental control technology, they use the computer, MCU, wireless sensor technology and modern control algorithm to build environment monitoring system and achieve automatic control in farms environment.On the basis of a detailed study of livestock and poultry breeding technology, comparing and analyzing the present research about the environment monitoring system, according to the farms environmental control requirements, an farm environmental monitoring system based on Lab VIEW was presented. Analog acquisition module was used to collect the environment information of transmitters, then the environment information were sent to the computer for algorithmic processing, after the algorithmic processing the control command were sent to the MCU to control the on/off of the environmental control device.The PC software of this system supporting the MODBUS protocol is designed by using the Lab VIEW software, Its biggest characteristic is to establish network communication with any equipment supporting MODBUS protocol, so the system is very practical and interchangeable and can be used to implement network monitoring for multiple farms; The standard current signal outputted by transmitters were collected by Modbus analog acquisition module, so it is no need to design signal processing and AD conversion hardware circuit,the system is simple and stable; The system has two control algorithms, fuzzy-PID algorithm and temperature-humidity index algorithm. Fuzzy-PID algorithm combines fuzzy control with PID control, with the advantages of both, it can realize the effective and stable control on the enclosed farm environment; Temperature-humidity index algorithm can be used to cooling adjustment in opened farm environment.
