Research On Improvement Of The Efficiency Of CGL-OA System In National Geologcial Library

Office automation(OA) was a new office concept first mentioned in 1950 s.It was a new office style that combined computer technology, Network technology, Communications technology and modern office. Along with the rise of the information construction in China, the construction of the office automation work gets the attention of the unit leader gradually. Through the implementation of office automation system, it can help enterprises and institutions to achieve information resources sharing and promote cooperative work of unit staff. Besides, it also can strengthen the supervision and management of the unit leadership and realize the automation of administrative affairs. As a result, it promotes the management of electronic, automation and standardization.Through the research on relevant theories, documentation, and application situation of office automation both at home and abroad, this thesis obtains knowledge and development of office automation. Meanwhile, it also obtains the research content, the research mentality and the research method. The theory basis of improving the use efficiency of OA system in Chinese Geological Library is established. This thesis mainly studies the application of OA system in Chinese Geological Library(the following abbreviation is CGL-OA system). Using questionnaire and interview method, it makes an investigation of the application of CGL-OA system, analyses the result of investigation and the reasons for the low usage of the system. On this basis and the actual situation of this unit, this thesis proposes suggestions for improving the efficiency of CGL-OA system as follows. Above all, increase the function of the CGL-OA system and expand office business scope. Furthermore, strengthen the system management of CGL-OA system. What’s more, optimize the workflow and improve the efficiency of official document circulation. Last but not least, strengthen the propaganda and training and improve the using efficiency of the system.Office automation locates on digital office work. Office automation should be the basis of information construction from the perspective of information construction. With the use of office automation system, it makes dealing with official documents,sending and receiving documents, viewing the information bulletin, carrying on business processes and sharing file information and so online become extremely convenient. The application of office automation technology makes management work more standard and science and greatly improve the working efficiency, which is an innovation on network handling official business concept.
