With the continuous development of information technology, people’s learning and work are constantly changing, such as information technology universities to promote the popularity of online teaching this teaching model, not only to change the current way of teaching, but also changed the expand people’s knowledge of the field of view, and good teaching. But now the network teaching system software on the market has high price, related services and upgrade costs are also high, so teaching university network of independent research and development system, has great theoretical significance and practical value. In this paper, Moodle, based on the development of a relatively new network teaching system.Moodle is a modular and object-oriented dynamic learning environment, this study developed Moodle from home and abroad to start, to get first-hand research material, based on this analysis combed Moodle related theories and technologies, the last the current situation with a combination of online teaching, the university network build Moodle teaching system model, the system is able to adapt to the needs of innovative teaching, with a relatively complete function, using the B/S architecture, with relational databases, PHP, JAVA, XML, CSS and other popular web authoring technology, the major function of the system implementation. Which operating system is Windows XP, server Apache, the database is MySQL, major web language PHP, complete the user interface, business logic, data access B/S architecture, its comprehensive functionality to facilitate the teachers and students and other users of use building a stronger, more professional teaching resource library and learning resources to achieve the integrated management system. Moodle’s design philosophy includes two aspects, one is object-oriented, is a modular design based on the angle between teachers and students stand functional application module is very useful, and process operability, modular design improves flexibility of the system, the system can be extended with additional features to facilitate the development and functional integration of the system. The system can assist traditional teaching, and play a huge advantage in the network teaching, its advanced features and concepts; both teachers facilitate knowledge management, and facilitate students to develop independent learning, cooperative learning can also be achieved between groups. A unified management system to achieve a variety of teaching resources for students to create a convenient learning environment, learning time can be deployed according to their specific circumstances, to choose the learning activities and the completion of the study in accordance with the relevant requirements learning courses. Between students and students, between the team and the team can be evaluated through mutual learning and cooperation to achieve the common goal of progress. The system also can track student learning process, monitoring and feedback student learning.Nowadays, advanced information technology has greatly promoted the development of distance education, online teaching mode gradually been accepted. This can be an effective way of teaching to enhance students’ self-learning ability, expand the teaching and learning resources, teachers and students to make a more diverse way of communicating. University network teaching system based on the Moodle platform that has the advantage, can further improve the university’s teaching methods, teaching resources to take full advantage and Universities raise the level of great significance.
