In recent years, China has become a great forest products manufacture and consumption country, which posed a positive influence on forest products market development. However, although the output and sales volume of Chinese forest products increased, the quality of forest products was not increased simultaneously, some illegal behaviors do occur in forestry producing activity frequently. Moreover, with the severe situation of global environment, eco-friendly awareness of consumers at developed countries was boosted and tended to put into practice, some of them carried out a series of laws which required forest products imported from China must certify the material source by ourselves, it slowed down our steps into international market. To respond with the green trade barrier, to improve the quality of forest products and supervise the raw material origins of forest products, a proposal that building up forest products logistics tracing system basing Internet of Things Technology was put forward in this paper to meet the necessity and urgency of our economy development at a new normal state. The paper could be divided into three aspects as followed:1.Review on research background and status at home and abroadThe research background in this paper including three parts:the current situation of forest products quality, forest products trade barriers added by development countries and the attention China had paid to the forest products tracing system. Meanwhile, the study meanings were expounded from five aspects:the construction of forest products industry, forest products export, enterprise management, customer protectment and government management. On the basis of analyzing forest products tracing system at home and abroad, some shortcomings in this field were found, so the standing point of this paper was to improve them and solve the practical problems.2.The designing of system demands analyzing and functionsThe paper analyzed the data flow of forest products supply chain in detail before analyzing system demands and designing its functions; Compared with other tracing technologies, RFIC (radio frequency integrated circuit) was applied to meet the demands of logistics tracing system financially and technically. At the same time, based on Internet of Things ideology, the system frame contained five layers, namely, data acquisition layer, interlayer, network layer, data layer and application layer, which built up a tracing system that collecting and disposing basic data quickly. The tracing system was made up of raw timber logistics tracing subsystem, forest products manufacture logistics tracing subsystem, forest products sales logistics subsystem, regulatory and evaluation subsystem, which helped realize the whole supply chain tracing, as well as make the system more effectively and usefully by regulatory and evaluation.3.The basic efforts for system implementationFirst of all, the study of RFIC focused on tracing card selection, storage area distribution and using bit arithmetic to manage authority; the read-write programs were also developed in computer and handhold device platform, then SQL Server 2008 was applied to design entity relationship and database tables. In the second place, NFC card was used in tracing system after making a comparison with other technologies, a forest products tracing website was also set up; In the system, forest products information was stored in RFIC card, which enabled customers recognize the products by NFC (Near Field Communication) reading software; Customers will get more detail information from the tracing website by clicking the website URL, that really helped customer check products information autonomously. To summed up, the forest products tracing system provided a practical and theoretical guidance in improving products quality, enhancing information digitization and promoting competitiveness in international forest products market which accorded with policy demand for smart forestry in China actually.
