It will enable higher request to the LED display in many filed with the development of social science and widely applied of flat panel display products. The LED smart glass with the characteristics of LED has become a new type of flat panel display media with the quality of artistic and diversity design. The beginning of acquaintance with the smart glass in our country is 2006. We still in the research stage about the technology of the LED smart glass.In this paper, an overview of LED display basic will be given. In order to design the LED smart glass system which basic ARM and FPGA, this dissertation describes in detail operational principle of LED smart glass display, the realization principles of the gray level and the display principles of full color, presents a program of full color LED smart glass display. The new designing system has three parts:MCU control system, transmission system, display system driver. The 24bit pixel video data which obtain from the DVI interface of the host compute through MCU control system decoded by T.M.D.S. for three primary colors of LED display. FPGA module controlled by ARM caches a part of data which to be displayed in Ping-pong mode. Meanwhile, FPGA will use Gamma Correction to process the readout pixel data from SRAM and correct 8bit color depth data into 12bit gray level data which LED display used. The gray level data received by transmission system will be output to the display system driver which makes the LED smart glass display the data. This paper describes in detail the obtaining method of LED smart glass display video source, images partition display, gray level implementation, the method of reading and writing for SRAM in Gamma Correction. In addition, this paper derives the contact and constraints between various technical parameters of the display system and proves the feasibility of the system, In the end, the hardware module circuits of the system will be given and hardware platform for LED smart glass display will be build and successful debug.The paper describes the ARM and FPGA cooperative control 4096 gray level full color LED smart glass display, mapping any 512x512 pixel data from the host compute video source or smaller area in real time. The display system with high flexibility and applicability reflect when modify the related parameters on software of host compute to change the resolution of the LED smart glass display.
